Maybe it's no surprise that we weren't exactly the most popular kids in high school. Kyle roamed the halls in his jean jacket reading Howard Zinn's History of the United States for fun, while Steve was playing the Friends theme song in a band called The Guys. Arguably the worst of the bunch, Eric was busy obsessing over a Magic: The Gathering-like customizeable Star Wars card game. Sigh. One can only hope Fraser and Chris were getting into trouble and making out with girls back in their Pennsylvania hometown. But the point is: we're doing better now, and we've made a lot of new friends this year. Hello to everyone we recently met in Harrisonburg at MACRoCk, and back home at The Annex, and Union Hall! New BFF Eric Atienza of Listen In writes [about our recent Union Hall performance]: "If the live show is any indication, it will certainly be a record to look out for... the sky is the limit." We also got our name in the New York Times blog! If there's a next time, maybe they'll spell Sofia the way we like it. They must have a copy editor, right? Or at least an intern with a myspace page? Business time: Limited edition copies of our new album Seven Summits will officially be available May 13th(!) through our website/myspace, at select local stores, and at these upcoming shows: Friday, May 16th 10pm (we play first) | $8 Friday, May 30th 8pm (we play second @ 9pm) | $7 Thursday, June 5th 9pm (we play third @ 11pm) | $7 |

We'll be taking the show [and copies of our new record] on the road mid-June. Look for dates in Virginia, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley! We hope to announce more summer tour dates soon! Love, The Secret Life of Sofia: Kyle, Eric, Steve [and our friends Fraser & Chris] |
